Brendan Rodgers believes Lucas' return will help Liverpool team-mate Joe Allen.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers believes that the return of Lucas Leiva will allow Joe Allen to express himself more at Anfield.

Allen followed his manager from Swansea City in a £15million deal, and has received praise for his performances in the centre of midfield.

However, with Brazil international Lucas still undergoing his rehabilitation after knee surgery last November, Rodgers feels that Allen has had to be somewhat reserved in his play.
