Robin van Persie leads the way in monthly PFA Fans' awardsRobin van Persie: Named PFA Fans' Player of the Month for September in the Premier League.

Robin van Persie, Peter Whittingham, Gary Liddle and Danny Kedwell have been named PFA Fans' Player of the Month for their respective divisions.

The quartet have been recognised by supporters for their achievements in September, having each made huge contributions for their clubs.

Manchester United striker Van Persie has quickly established himself as an Old Trafford favourite following his summer switch from Premier League rivals Arsenal.

He started last month with a hat-trick that inspired the Red Devils to come from behind and beat Southampton, while he also scored the winning goal against Liverpool from the penalty spot.

In the Championship, Whittingham has been very much at the forefront of Cardiff's success during the early part of the season.

The midfielder scored five goals in September to help propel the Bluebirds up the table, and they are currently level on points with Leicester at the top.

Liddle played in every game for Notts County as they went through last month unbeaten in League One, recording three wins and three draws.

A versatile performer who can play at centre-back or in midfield, Liddle's fine form has helped Notts County make a strong start in their bid for promotion.

Kedwell has been awarded the prize for League Two after scoring five goals for Gillingham.

He has been superb up front this season to help the Gills to their current position at the top of the division.
